Tributes & Monuments
The United States Olympians Rings of Fame Monument
For over a hundred years, the men and women athletes of the United States have contributed to the spirit of our country through their participation in the Olympic Games. Yet, no lasting tribute existed in their honor. We developed an unprecedented relationship of cooperation with the International Olympic Committee, the United States Olympic Committee, the Atlanta Olympic committees, and the United States Olympians, and conceived and designed The United States Olympians Rings of Fame Monument. The monument included the names of over 10,000 Americans who had competed in the Olympics from 1886 to 1996. We also orchestrated an Olympic program of personal appearances for 450 Olympians. Over a million people came to see and touch the names on the rings and to meet the Olympians when the Rings of Fame was on display in Atlanta during the 1996 Summer Olympics. The Rings of Fame was hailed as the “Best Pavilion” by many and touted as the pavilion that best depicted the spirit of the Games by critics in Atlanta newspapers.
“Absolutely breathtaking beyond my wildest dreams.”
–Bill Payne, President, Olympic Centennial Games
“M2000 is the single most significant Olympic tribute by a sponsor in the history of the modern games.”
