A Christmas Miracle
Santa Visits NORAD and a Children's Hospital

On December 23, 2008, Santa’s Traveling Workshop™ Foundation and M2000 Corp. accomplished another Christmas Miracle.

Starting just a few weeks ago, we organized an effort that has reached out and touched thousands of children of Wounded Warriors and Fallen Heroes providing them with the magic and spirit of Christmas and gifts distributed by our fabulous Santa’s Helpers, the American Red Cross, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (T.A.P.S.) and American Gold Star Mothers.

As part of this effort we created a “Santa’s Helper” program where U.S. Senators purchased and wrapped gifts to be delivered to the children of Wounded Warriors and Fallen Heroes. Among the many who participated were Senators Clinton, Rockefeller, Kyl, Kohl, Lieberman, Murkowski and Specter.

We also conducted our First Annual Santa Claus’ Visit Auction on eBay that generated thousands and thousands of hits to have Santa fly anywhere in the 48 continental United States to visit children at a military base and a children’s hospital.

On December 23, 2008, a private jet supplied by a generous supporter flew the “Real Santa”, Macy’s Santa from the Thanksgiving Day Parade, a very special Elf, “Elf D”, a.k.a. Dana Bowman, and Santa’s Helpers to Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs where we were greeted by Generals on the tarmac and then given a very special VIP tour and presentation of NORAD’s 50th anniversary of their Santa Tracking Program.

This Holiday Miracle was made possible by Macy’s, NORAD, Peterson Air Force Base, Sony, Southwest Airlines 3M, eGames, the Toy Book, Build-A-Bear, American Red Cross, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (T.A.P.S.) and American Gold Star Mothers.

And of course, we had coverage by NBC, Fox and Friends, Global-TV Canada, CBS Early Show, CNN and Sky News United Kingdom.  Click here to see a video of some of the television coverage we received from Santa's visit to NORAD.

Next year, our Second Annual Santa Claus’ Visit Auction will be huge success and will help even more families.
